Telangana Tourism Launches Digital Initiatives, New Tourism Products on World Tourism Day
Hyderabad, Sept 27 (TNT): Telangana Tourism launched several digital initiatives and new tourism products and presented excellence awards to tourism stakeholders as part of the World Tourism Day 2026 celebrations held at Sampradaya Vedika, Shilparamam, here on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka attended the event as the chief guest, while Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and other senior officials, tourism industry representatives and hospitality professionals participated.
Film actor Thiruveer and actress Faria Abdullah attended as special guests.
A redesigned Telangana Tourism website and an online homestay registration facility were launched to improve access to tourism information and simplify the registration process for homestay operators.
A new promotional trailer showcasing the state’s heritage, culture, nature, cuisine and tourist destinations was also unveiled.
An interactive, 360-degree-enabled Guide Learning Management initiative was launched to strengthen the knowledge, skills and digital capabilities of tourism guides.
A coffee table book featuring Telangana’s tourist destinations was also released.
Video and poster creatives for the “My Telangana, My Destination” digital media engagement campaign were unveiled to encourage people to explore and share their experiences of the state’s tourist destinations through digital and social media platforms.
Two panel discussions were held on “AI and Digital Technology – The Future of Tourism” and “Emerging Paradigms in Tourism – Eco-Tourism, Film, Sports, Heritage”, featuring speakers from the tourism, technology and related sectors.
Excellence awards were presented to tourism stakeholders in recognition of their contributions to tourism promotion and destination development.
The District Collectors of Medak and Mulugu were felicitated for their efforts to promote tourism in their respective districts.
The Project Officer of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency was also honoured for developing “Bhadragiri Mart” at Bhadrachalam to promote tribal products and provide a platform for tribal communities to showcase their products.
The celebrations featured cultural performances showcasing Telangana’s artistic traditions and heritage, along with exhibitions highlighting the state’s history, art and tourism attractions.
Heritage Telangana displayed sculptures reflecting the state’s historical and architectural heritage, while the State Art Gallery showcased artworks and paintings.
The National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management set up a stall showcasing its academic programmes and contributions to tourism and hospitality education and skill development.
Stalls representing the erstwhile districts of Telangana provided information on tourist destinations and tourism opportunities across the state.
A dedicated Telangana Tourism Pavilion showcased prominent tourist destinations and tourism products.
A special virtual reality experience at the pavilion offered visitors an immersive and interactive introduction to the state’s attractions.
The celebrations highlighted the state government’s efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure, promote heritage conservation, leverage digital technology and enhance visitor experiences, with a focus on positioning Telangana as a leading tourism destination.
