Telangana to intensify resource mobilisation to meet revenue targets: Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, July 25 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday directed officials to step up efforts to mobilise additional revenue in line with the budget estimates for 2026-27 and ensure optimum utilisation of available resources to strengthen the State’s finances.

Chairing a meeting of the Resource Mobilisation Cabinet Sub-Committee at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, Bhatti said all departments should identify additional avenues for revenue generation and strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines for achieving budget targets.

IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, a member of the sub-committee, also attended the meeting.

The Deputy Chief Minister stressed the need for effective coordination among departments and directed officials to take firm measures to plug revenue leakages and enhance resource mobilisation to accelerate the State’s economic growth.

The meeting reviewed the performance of key revenue-generating departments, including Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Industries, Excise, Mining, Revenue, Transport, Stamps and Registration, and Commercial Taxes. Officials were issued guidelines to achieve the revenue targets set for the current financial year.

The sub-committee also decided to expedite land monetisation and land pooling across the State. Officials were directed to identify government land assets under the HMDA and explore additional land pooling opportunities by adopting transparent models on the lines of the Uppal Bhagayat model.

District Collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri were instructed to identify government land parcels and examine the feasibility of land pooling in their respective districts.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Planning Secretary Gaurav Uppal and other senior officials attended the meeting.
