Telangana: Revenue Inspector Caught Accepting Rs 30,000 Bribe in Jagtial

Jagtial (Telangana), Aug 14 (TNT) : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday caught a Revenue Inspector while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant at Siripuram Colony in Beerpur mandal of Jagtial district on Thursday.

Manchikatla Rahul, Revenue Inspector, Beerpur , working in the office of the Tahsildar, had initially demanded Rs 50,000 from the complainant for conducting a field survey of the complainant’s land and issuing a report for registration and issuance of a Pattadar Pass Book, the ACB said in a release here.

Following a request from the complainant, the accused officer agreed to reduce the bribe amount to Rs 40,000, with Rs 30,000 to be paid on August 13 and the remaining Rs 10,000 after completion of the work.

Accordingly, the accused accepted Rs 30,000 from the complainant and was caught by the ACB officials and the tainted bribe amount was recovered from his possession.

The ACB said the accused had improperly and dishonestly sought to obtain undue advantage by misusing his official position.

The accused was arrested and is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Karimnagar.

The case is under investigation.
