Telangana Plans International-Standard Health City in Proposed Fourth City: CM

Hyderabad, Apr 27 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said the state government is planning to develop an internationally recognised Health City in the proposed Fourth City area as part of efforts to boost healthcare infrastructure and medical tourism.

Speaking after inaugurating Apollo Hospitals Group’s “Hospital of Gratitude” in Hyderabad’s Financial District, the Chief Minister said discussions are underway with airport authorities to establish a green channel for the swift transfer of patients from the airport to hospitals.

Reddy said the government is actively positioning Hyderabad as a global hub for medical tourism and has requested the Centre to facilitate direct flights from Middle Eastern countries to improve access for international patients.

Highlighting the contribution of Apollo Hospitals, he noted that the group has played a pioneering role in transforming healthcare in India and has earned the trust of millions over the decades.

He also underlined Hyderabad’s strengths in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, stating that the city played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains a major hub for bulk drug manufacturing.

Reaffirming the state’s investor-friendly approach, the Chief Minister said Telangana offers a secure business environment and invited stakeholders to invest in the sector.
