Nalgonda (Telangana), May 1 (TNT): Nine labourers were injured, two of them seriously, in an explosion at a pharmaceutical unit in Velminedu village of Chityal mandal in Nalgonda district on Friday.
Police said the accident occurred in the third block of the unit when a reactor reportedly exploded, triggering thick smoke that engulfed the area.
The injured workers were shifted to Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.
District Collector B. Chandrasekhar visited the site and directed the management to strictly implement safety measures.
Further investigation into the cause of the blast is underway.
