Telangana govt to organise grand closing events for ‘Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika’

Hyderabad, May 26 (TNT): The Telangana government will organise grand closing celebrations for the 99-day public outreach programme ‘Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika’ across the State from June 2 to June 12.

The decision was taken at a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.

Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy attended the review meeting.

The Sub-Committee reviewed the implementation of programmes conducted so far at village, mandal, constituency and district levels under the ‘Praja Palana–Pragati Pranalika’ initiative and directed officials to intensify public participation in the remaining phase.

According to officials, the 12-day programme from June 2 to June 12 will include Environment Week celebrations, road safety awareness drives, anti-drug campaigns, women and child protection initiatives, housing programmes, tourism promotion activities, urban development programmes and foundation stone laying and inauguration of renewable energy projects.

The ministers instructed all departments to work in coordination to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the programmes.

The Sub-Committee also held detailed discussions on implementation of the proposed ‘Indiramma Family Life Insurance’ scheme aimed at providing social security coverage to families across the State.

Officials were directed to undertake a comprehensive door-to-door household survey to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries. The government also decided to organise special camps for those left out of the survey process and launch awareness campaigns on the insurance scheme.

As part of the initiative, the government will design a special logo for the scheme and paste logo stickers on houses where the survey has been completed.

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao directed departments to prepare and submit detailed action plans immediately.

The meeting was attended by Director General of Police CV Anand, Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan, Vikas Raj, Naveen Mittal, Vani Prasad and Dana Kishore, along with Principal Secretaries Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Gaurav Uppal and other senior officials.
