Telangana Govt Releases Another Rs 2,000-Cr to Clear Pending Employee Dues

Hyderabad, June 29 (TNT: The Telangana Government on Monday released another ₹2,000 crore towards pending dues of employees and pensioners, as part of its commitment to clear arrears in a phased manner.

The funds were released by Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania following the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, an official release said.

The government had earlier assured the Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) that pending dues amounting to ₹6,000 crore would be cleared within 100 days.

Accordingly, the first instalment of ₹2,000 crore was released on May 29, while the second instalment of an equal amount was released on Monday, taking the total amount released so far to ₹4,000 crore.

The release said the government has accorded top priority to the welfare of retired employees by clearing all pending General Provident Fund (GPF) dues of retired employees and Zilla Parishad teachers.

It also cleared all pending commutation dues of retired employees up to September 2025.

Further, all pending bills below ₹10,000 have been settled. More than five lakh payment tokens in this category were identified and cleared, the release said.

Employee union leaders welcomed the government’s decision and appreciated its efforts to honour commitments made to employees despite financial constraints.

The government said the remaining pending dues would also be released in a phased manner.
