Telangana Governor calls for expansion of Bharat Scouts and Guides in Pvt schools
Hyderabad, May 13 (TNT): The leadership of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) Telangana called on Telangana Governor and Chief Patron of BSG, Shiv Pratap Shukla, at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday and briefed him on the organisation’s expansion, developmental initiatives and future plans in the State.
During the meeting, the delegation, led by Special Chief Secretary to the Governor and State Chief Commissioner of Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) M. Dana Kishore, along with Director of School Education and State Secretary of BSG E. Naveen Nicolas, informed Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla that scouting activities were being conducted successfully across all 33 districts of Telangana.
Dana Kishore said infrastructure for BSG was being strengthened with support from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds and the Governor’s Funds.
He noted that around 1,200 BSG units were currently functioning across the State, with more than 30,000 students actively participating in scouting activities.
Naveen said the State government had been extending regular financial support to BSG activities.
He added that after enrolling 1,000 schools during the 2025–26 academic year, another 1,000 schools were expected to join in 2026–27. A comprehensive activity calendar was also being prepared with the objective of establishing BSG units in every school in the State.
Appreciating the progress made by BSG Telangana, Shiv Pratap advised the organisation to further expand its activities, particularly by encouraging greater participation from private schools.
The Governor said the facilities available at the State Training Centre would help nurture leadership qualities and personality development among young scouts.
The BSG Telangana delegation assured him of its commitment to extending scouting activities to all parts of the State.
