Telangana Dy CM Bhatti directs officials to step up revenue mobilisation, attract investments

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday directed officials to formulate a comprehensive action plan to increase government revenue by effectively utilising state resources, with focus on attracting investments and enhancing the value of government lands.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on resource mobilisation at the Secretariat here, Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and senior officials, stressed the need to strengthen the State’s economy by effectively utilising government lands, creating an investor-friendly environment and promoting private participation in tourism.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to fast-track clearances for applications related to parks under the HILT Policy where there were no objections and ensure early mobilisation of revenue due to the government.

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju suggested conducting minister-led roadshows in six parks to create awareness among industries about the HILT Policy.

On tourism, Bhatti directed officials to prepare 70-80 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) showcasing investment opportunities in the sector for domestic and international investors at the upcoming Global Summit.

Officials said investment proposals worth around Rs 30,000 crore had earlier been received when Telangana’s investment opportunities were showcased.

He also directed officials to identify suitable locations for tourism projects and formulate proposals capable of attracting large-scale investments.

Officials informed the meeting that bids had been invited for 11 forts to develop them as tourism destinations under the Public-Private Partnership model.

Bhatti directed officials to launch Tiger Tourism programmes and focus on establishing caravan parks.

Uttam Kumar suggested examining the possibility of utilising the Nizam Guest House at Nizamsagar for tourism purposes.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to conduct field-level reviews of major tourism projects and prepare timelines for their completion and opening to tourists.

Special Chief Secretary Vani Prasad, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Planning Secretary Gaurav Uppal and senior officials attended the meeting.
