Telangana CS directs depts to expedite release of Central funds under CSS in time-bound manner

Hyderabad, Oct 24 (TNT) : Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Saturday directed all departmental Secretaries to accord the “highest priority” to securing funds due to the State under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and initiated a time-bound, coordinated drive to expedite clearances from the Government of India.
Chairing a high-level review meeting with top bureaucrats at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, the Chief Secretary assessed compliance protocols, onboarding requirements, expenditure reporting, and the closure of Single Nodal Agency (SNA) accounts tied to the flow of Central grants.
Emphasizing that the push follows instructions from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Jaju ordered all departments to eliminate procedural bottlenecks so that welfare and development schemes do not face fund crunches.
“No avoidable delay should occur on account of pending procedural formalities, incomplete documentation, or lack of inter-departmental coordination,” Jaju said, directing Secretaries to track progress on the CM Dashboard and review mechanisms.
The review encompassed key delivery departments, including Agriculture, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, School and Higher Education, Home, Rural Water Supply, Housing, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Transport, and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.
To fast-track clearances with New Delhi, the Chief Secretary instructed State Secretaries to establish direct coordination with designated Additional Secretaries in Union Ministries. He added that demi-official (D.O.) letters would be dispatched from his office where necessary, and assured officials that he would personally take up sticky issues with Union Secretaries in New Delhi.
Senior officials present at the review included Special Chief Secretaries B.M.D. Ekka and Dhanakishore; Principal Secretaries Rahul Bojja, Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Yogita Rana, Ahmed Nadeem, and Christina Zongthu; Secretaries Gaurav Uppal, Surendra Mohan, Shruti Ojha, K. Divya, and M. Ilambarthi; and Law Secretary V. Papireddy, among others, according to an official release issued by the Information and Public Relations Department.
