Telangana CM unveils Amara Raja EV cell facility, says Telangana Rising unstoppable

Mahbubnagar (Telangana), July 15 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday asserted that “Telangana Rising is unstoppable” and said the state government is strengthening infrastructure and pursuing transparent policies to attract more investments and accelerate economic growth.

Speaking after inaugurating Amara Raja’s EV Cell Manufacturing Facility at the Amara Raja Giga Corridor in Divitipally, Mahbubnagar district, the Chief Minister said the government is carrying forward the best industrial and development policies introduced by successive governments to ensure policy continuity and avoid policy paralysis.

He said the state aims to increase Telangana’s contribution to the national GDP from the current five per cent to 10 per cent, while transforming it into a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047 under the Telangana Rising-2047 vision.

Revanth Reddy said discussions are underway with a neighbouring state to secure 90 TMC of water for the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and 30 TMC for the Dindi project, adding that the government would soon share “good news” with the people of Mahbubnagar district.

The Chief Minister said the government would create a conducive environment for industries in the district to generate employment and stressed that farmers who parted with land for the Amara Raja project should be given jobs at the new manufacturing facility.

Praising Amara Raja, he said the company has emerged as a strong player in electric vehicle technology by drawing inspiration from global leaders such as China, Japan, Germany and South Korea.

“It is a matter of pride that an Indian company is competing with China in the EV sector,” he said, noting that about 700 people, including 400 women, are employed at the Divitipally facility.

Expressing concern over climate change and rising pollution, Revanth Reddy said electric vehicles are essential for reducing emissions and promoting sustainable development.

He also reiterated his commitment to developing Mahbubnagar into a model district, highlighting investments in educational institutions, skill development centres and irrigation projects, including the completion of the pending Kalwakurthy, Bhima, Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS) and Nettempadu projects.
