Telangana CM announces Rs. 6,000 Cr dues Clearance, Health Cards for Employees

Hyderabad, May 2 (TNT) : Telangana Chief Minister  A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a series of major decisions for government employees, including clearance of pending retirement dues worth ₹6,000 crore within 100 days and issuance of health cards to all employees by June 1.

At a meeting with Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) here, Revanth directed the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) to submit its report immediately, stating that the government is ready to take a decision on salary enhancement.

He also suggested that employee unions hold meetings every two months and submit reports on their issues to the government for timely resolution.

Revanth said the government had prioritised employee welfare since assuming office, including ensuring salaries are credited on the first day of every month and allowing unions to conduct their elections independently.

He acknowledged the role of employees in the successful implementation of welfare schemes and development programmes.

He noted that the government had recruited 67,760 employees across departments and carried out teacher transfers in a planned manner without confusion.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he said health cards would be issued to all employees by June 1, while ₹6,000 crore would be disbursed towards retirement benefits within 100 days.

He added that employee unions could play a role in prioritising the utilisation of these funds.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government was working towards clearing all pending bills by State Formation Day on June 2, adding that a comprehensive plan was in place to resolve issues accumulated over the years.

Welcoming the government’s decisions, the Employees JAC announced withdrawal of dharnas and protest programmes from May 5.

JAC leaders, including M. Jagadish and others, participated in the meeting and thanked the government for addressing their long-pending demands.
