Telangana CM accuses Maharashtra CM of ‘Hide-and-Seek’ on Godavari Water Issue

Jadcherla (Mahabubnagar), June 5 (TNT):Telangana Government on Friday accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of playing a “hide-and-seek” game over the Godavari river water issue and demanded clarity on the matter.

Addressing a public meeting organised under the “Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika” programme at Jadcherla, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that the Maharashtra government was avoiding a clear response on issues related to the sharing and utilisation of Godavari waters.

The Chief Minister also criticised BJP leaders and Union ministers, accusing them of evading responsibility and failing to address concerns relating to the inter-state water issue.

“We will hold them accountable and demand answers on the issue,” Revanth Reddy said, asserting that Telangana would continue to pursue its interests regarding Godavari water utilisation.

The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to the proposed Tummidihatti Project and declared that the project would be completed despite challenges.

“We will complete the Tummidihatti project against all odds,” he said.

the CM maintained that securing Telangana’s rightful share of river waters and completing key irrigation projects remained a priority for the state government, particularly for ensuring irrigation and drinking water needs in drought-prone regions.
