Hyderabad, May 4 (TNT): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana on Monday celebrated the NDA’s victory in Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry following the announcement of Assembly election results.
The BJP State Office here witnessed festive scenes as party leaders and workers, including women, gathered in large numbers to distribute sweets and exchange greetings.
Supporters burst crackers and raised slogans in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The celebrations were led by State BJP President N Ramchander Rao.
Among those present were Rajya Sabha MP D K Laxman, BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, MLC Anji Reddy, State Vice President Kasam Venkateshwarlu and State Chief Spokesperson N V Subhash, along with several senior leaders and party activists.
Earlier, several medical professionals joined the BJP under its Doctors’ Cell, with Rao formally welcoming them by draping party shawls.
Speaking to the media, Rao said the participation of minority community members from Kukatpally indicated that “walls of misinformation are crumbling,” and asserted that the BJP is not against any religion or community.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” ensuring welfare schemes reach all sections of society.
Rao alleged that leaders such as Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) create hurdles to maintain political monopoly and prevent women’s empowerment.
He further claimed that the Assembly poll results reflect public rejection of the INDI Alliance’s “divisive politics,” including the “North vs South” narrative.
Stating that people of Telangana are closely watching the developments, Rao expressed confidence that voters would deliver a similar verdict in the upcoming elections.
He also urged people to participate in large numbers in the proposed public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled on May 10 at Secunderabad Parade Ground, during his visit to Hyderabad.
