Tadicherla-II coal block allocation historic, major boost for SCCL: Telangana BJP Chief

Hyderabad, July 14 (TNT): BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday hailed the Centre’s decision to allocate the Tadicherla-II coal block to Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) through the nomination route, describing it as a historic step that would strengthen the company’s long-term coal production and revenue.

Addressing Singareni workers during the second day of the BJP’s Singareni Bharosa Yatra, Rao said the allocation would enable SCCL to increase coal production over the long term and generate thousands of crores of rupees in revenue.

He said it was the first time the Centre had allotted such a large coal block to SCCL through the nomination route.

Rao credited Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy for playing a key role in securing the allocation, saying he had consistently worked for the welfare of Singareni workers even before becoming a Union Minister.

He said the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had approved the allocation through the nomination route instead of the tender process to safeguard the future of SCCL.

Refuting claims by political opponents over the allocation, Rao said the Tadicherla-II block was secured solely due to the efforts of Kishan Reddy and asserted that the Centre had also facilitated the allotment of the Naini coal block to SCCL.

The BJP leader alleged that the Telangana government was placing an additional financial burden on SCCL by diverting its funds to activities unrelated to the company’s core operations, including football tournaments.

He accused the Congress government of following the policies of the previous BRS regime and failing to address the concerns of Singareni workers and other sections of society.

Rao said the BJP would continue to oppose any move that adversely affects the interests of Singareni workers.

As part of the yatra, Rao, along with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and other BJP leaders, visited the newly allotted Tadicherla-II coal block, KTK-8 mine in Bhupalpally Area-I, SRP-3 mine at Rampur and other mining locations.

BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, MLA Rama Rao, MLC Anji Reddy, former MP Seetaram Naik and other party leaders participated in the programme.
