Tirupati, May 8 (TNT): The grand Swarna Rathotsavam of Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple was held with religious fervour on Friday evening as part of the annual Vasanthotsavams.
Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy, accompanied by Sridevi and Bhudevi, was taken in a procession on the glittering golden chariot around the four mada streets of the temple.
Large numbers of women devotees enthusiastically participated in the procession and pulled the golden chariot amid chants of “Govinda”, Vedic hymns and Mangala Vadyams.
Earlier in the day, rituals including Suprabhatham, Thomala Seva, Koluvu, Panchanga Sravanam, Sahasranamarchana and Snapana Tirumanjanam were performed to the deities.
TTD Deputy Executive Officer Varalakshmi, Superintendent Raj Kumar, Temple Inspectors Muni Kumar and Dhanasekhar, engineering officials and a large number of devotees participated in the event.
