Sri Kodandarama Shines on Surya Prabha Vahanam During Brahmotsavams in Tirupati

Tirupati, Mar 23 (TNT):  The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodandarama Swamy witnessed a grand spectacle on Monday as the Lord was taken in a majestic procession on the Surya Prabha Vahanam, radiating divine splendour under the morning sun.

The Vahana Seva was conducted along the four Mada streets surrounding the temple in Tirupati, where devotees thronged in large numbers and offered camphor haratis while having darshan of the deity.

In Hindu tradition, the Sun is revered as the source of energy, believed to remove ailments and sustain life, including rainfall, vegetation, and medicinal elements, adding spiritual significance to the Surya Prabha Vahanam.

Later in the morning, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Utsava deities of Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana between 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. The ritual included sacred ablutions with milk, curd, honey, coconut water, turmeric and sandalwood paste.

Among those present were Tirumala Jeeyar Swami, Deputy Executive Officer Smt. Nagaratna, Superintendent Sri Munishankar, Temple Inspector Sri Suresh and other officials, besides a large gathering of devotees.

Meanwhile, temple authorities announced that the Rathotsavam will be held on March 24, during which the Lord will be taken in a grand chariot procession through the Mada streets in the morning, followed by Ashwa Vahanam Seva in the evening.
