Six Devotees Killed in Temple Roof Collapse in Maharashtra’s Parbhani District
Parbhani (Maharashtra) , June 20 (TNT): At least six devotees were killed and several others injured when a portion of the roof of an under-construction assembly hall at a Hanuman temple collapsed in Yashwadi village of Maharashtra’s Parbhani district on Saturday.
According to police, a large number of devotees had gathered at the temple for darshan when a section of the roof and a supporting pillar of the under-construction structure suddenly gave way, trapping several people under the debris.
Rescue teams, police personnel and local authorities rushed to the spot and launched a large-scale operation to extricate those trapped.
Preliminary reports indicated that around 30 to 40 devotees were caught under the rubble following the collapse.
Officials confirmed that six devotees lost their lives in the incident, while several others sustained injuries.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, with some reported to be in serious condition.
