SCR GM directs officials to strengthen track security
Hyderabad, Sept 15 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Tuesday directed officials to strengthen security along railway tracks to prevent miscreant activities and improve communication between patrol staff, trackmen and station staff.
Srivastava issued the directions while reviewing the safety of train operations across the zone at Rail Nilayam here.
He instructed officials and supervisors to exercise caution during track maintenance involving men and machinery and strictly adhere to prescribed safety rules and procedures.
Supervisors were directed to counsel field staff to remain alert and follow safety protocols while performing their duties.
He also stressed the need for regular refresher courses for staff to update their knowledge of safety protocols, rules and operational practices.
The General Manager reviewed the progress of tree trimming and directed officials to expedite the work to ensure clear visibility of signals to train crews.
He also stressed the importance of worksite protection and coordination among departments while carrying out maintenance and other works.
Srivastava reviewed the status of ongoing works across the zone and directed the divisions to complete them within the targeted timelines.
Principal Heads of Departments attended the meeting, while Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded participated through video conference.
