SCR General Manager Inspects Ultratech Cement Siding at Malkhaid
Hyderabad, June 27 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Saturday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Ultratech Cement siding at Malkhaid station to review infrastructure, freight operations and future development plans.
He was accompanied by Principal Chief Operations Manager K. Padmaja, Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan and other senior railway officials.
The General Manager commenced the inspection by travelling from Secunderabad to Tandur in a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)-equipped coach.
The GPR system uses electromagnetic pulses to assess subsurface track conditions through non-destructive methods, enabling safety evaluation without disrupting train operations.
At Malkhaid, Srivastava inspected the cement siding infrastructure, reviewed freight handling operations and discussed measures to improve operational efficiency with railway and company officials.
He also visited the Central Control Room at the Ultratech siding, where he reviewed train operations and monitoring systems and witnessed a live demonstration of modern equipment used for freight management.
He appreciated the adoption of advanced technology to improve operational efficiency.
The General Manager later inspected the production plant, loading infrastructure and freight handling facilities. During a meeting with Ultratech officials, he was briefed on future expansion plans and the use of innovative technologies to further strengthen freight operations.
During the visit, Srivastava also received representations from local residents and other stakeholders at Malkhaid station regarding improvement of railway services.
