Rajnath Singh to review passing out parade at Air Force Academy, Dundigal on June 13
Hyderabad, June 9 (TNT): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will review the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) of the 217th Course at the Air Force Academy (AFC) in Dundigal, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, on June 13.
The event will mark the successful completion of pre-commissioning training of flight cadets across various branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
During the ceremony, the Defence Minister, as the Reviewing Officer, will confer the President’s Commission on the graduating trainees, a Defence release said here on Tuesday.
The parade will also witness the presentation of Wings and Brevets to flight cadets of the Indian Air Force, as well as officers and trainees from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam upon successful completion of their training.
A key highlight of this year’s parade will be the commissioning of the first batch of women cadets from the National Defence Academy, who passed out from the academy on May 30, 2025, and subsequently underwent branch-specific training at the Air Force Academy.
The Defence Minister will also present the President’s Plaque to the cadets securing first position in the overall order of merit in the Flying Branch, Navigation Stream and Ground Duty Branches.
The parade will be interspersed with fly-pasts led by Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh.
The aerial display will feature trainer aircraft including the Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, Hawk, Kiran and Chetak.
Spectators will also witness aerobatic and combat demonstrations by the SU-30 MKI fighter aircraft, the Sarang Helicopter Display Team and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, which are expected to be among the major attractions of the ceremony.
The Combined Graduation Parade marks the culmination of rigorous military and flying training and the induction of a new generation of officers into the armed forces.
