Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group to set up Rs 600- Cr superalloy facility in Telangana
Hyderabad, July 22 (TNT): Hyderabad-based Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group, a precision manufacturing and deep-tech company serving the aerospace, defence and energy sectors, on Wednesday announced plans to establish a ₹600 crore-plus integrated superalloy manufacturing facility in Telangana to strengthen India’s aerospace and defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The proposed 50-acre facility will be among India’s few integrated plants for manufacturing high-quality nickel-based superalloys, the company said in a release here.
The facility will house advanced manufacturing capabilities, including vacuum melting, forging, heat treatment, vacuum casting, powder metallurgy and other forming processes under one roof.
Designed with an annual production capacity of around 5,000 tonnes, the plant will manufacture round bars, wires, forgings, castings, tungsten carbide powders and other specialised products. Commercial production is expected to commence in January 2028.
The announcement was made on the opening day of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, one of the world’s leading aerospace and defence exhibitions, being held in the United Kingdom till July 24.
The project will be led by Dr S.K. Jha, former Chairman and Managing Director of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani). His expertise in strategic materials is expected to help develop a globally competitive superalloy manufacturing ecosystem in India.
Nickel-based superalloys are critical for aero engines, space systems, defence platforms, gas turbines, oil and gas applications, nuclear energy, medical implants and emerging hydrogen technologies.
The facility is expected to reduce India’s dependence on imported nickel alloys while boosting domestic manufacturing capabilities in strategic sectors.
The project also marks a major step towards vertical integration for Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group by securing access to critical raw materials for its aerospace, defence and energy businesses while supporting India’s growing aerospace and defence supply chain.
The group has already received customer support for the product and process qualification required for commercial production.
The company supplies complex aero-engine components and sub-assemblies to leading global OEMs, including GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, Safran and Collins Aerospace.
The company said the facility would strengthen India’s self-reliance in critical alloys and provide the domestic aerospace and defence industry with access to high-quality nickel-based superalloys.
The project was unveiled at the Group’s pavilion at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026 in the presence of Raghu Vamsi Aerospace Group Managing Director Vamsi Vikas Ganesula, CEO Siva Arvinth and UK Head Shaun Newby.
