PwC India, SAP India launch skill development programme for engineering students
Bhubaneswar, Aug 25 (TNT): PwC India and SAP India have launched an 18-month skill development programme for engineering students aimed at equipping them with industry-relevant skills, certifications and practical experience to enhance workforce readiness.
The programme was launched with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, the first academic institution to partner with the two companies under the University Alliances initiative in India. The programme is planned to be expanded to other universities subsequently.
The initiative is designed for B.Tech students from Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning disciplines.
It combines SAP-certified learning, practical industry exposure and focused skill-building sessions to prepare students for technology-oriented careers.
Students demonstrating strong performance will be eligible for six-month internships with PwC India, with potential opportunities for full-time employment.
PwC India Chairperson Sanjeev Krishan said stronger collaboration between academia and industry was essential to building a future-ready workforce and helping India emerge as a global talent hub.
SAP India President and Managing Director Manish Prasad said the partnership would help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world application by providing students with hands-on exposure to SAP technologies and future-ready skills.
The initiative is aligned with PwC’s Vision 2030, which focuses on providing accessible and affordable learning opportunities to youth, facilitating transitions into employment and developing a skilled workforce.
PwC India said the programme is part of its efforts to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and create a pipeline of industry-ready talent for India’s digital economy.
