Pushpayagam at Appalayagunta Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple on July 30
Tirupati, July 26 (TNT): The annual Pushpayagam of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Appalayagunta will be conducted with religious fervour on July 30.
The sacred ritual, performed after the annual Brahmotsavams, is observed as an act of atonement for any inadvertent lapses in daily and festival rituals, and for the welfare and prosperity of devotees.
As part of the festivities, Medhini Puja, Senadhipathi Utsavam and Ankurarpanam will be performed on July 29 from 6.30 pm to 8 pm.
On July 30, Vedic rituals will be conducted at the Yagasala from 8.30 am to 11 am, followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam for the utsava deities of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi from 11 am to 12 noon.
The sacred bath will be performed using milk, curd, honey, turmeric, sandalwood paste and coconut water.
The main Pushpayagam ritual will be held from 3 pm to 5.30 pm, with the deities offered a variety of fragrant flowers including tulasi, chrysanthemum, oleander, mogali, jasmine, sampangi, rose and lotus.
The celebrations will conclude with Veedhi Utsavam from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
Temple authorities said the sacred ritual is believed to remove doshas, bring peace and prosperity to the world, and bless devotees with good health, happiness and fulfilment of their wishes.
