Pournami Garuda Seva Held with Religious Fervour at Tirumala
Tirumala, June 29 (TNT): The monthly Pournami Garuda Seva was conducted with religious fervour at the Sri Venkateswara Temple here on Monday night, with thousands of devotees participating in the sacred procession.
Sri Malayappa Swamy, richly adorned with traditional ornaments and floral decorations, was taken in a grand procession atop the Garuda Vahanam through the four Mada Streets, blessing devotees.
Garuda Seva is one of the most significant rituals observed in the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desams.
According to Hindu tradition, the procession of Lord Venkateswara on Garuda Vahanam signifies His divine grace towards devotees who surrender to Him with unwavering faith.
Garuda, the celestial vehicle of Lord Maha Vishnu, is regarded as a symbol of wisdom and detachment. \
Devotees believe that having darshan of the Lord on Garuda Vahanam helps cleanse sins and bestows spiritual wisdom and divine blessings.
TTD Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary, TTD Board Members Shantaram, Panabaka Lakshmi and Janaki Devi, Vigilance and Security Officer Surendra, Deputy Executive Officer Lokanatham, Temple Peshkar Ramakrishna, other officials and a large number of devotees participated in the religious event.
