Pearl Kavacham Adorns Sri Malayappa Swamy on Second Day of Jyeshtabhishekam

Tirumala, June 27 (TNT): The second day’s rituals of the annual Sri Venkateswara Swamy Jyeshtabhishekam were conducted with religious fervour at the Tirumala temple on Saturday, with Sri Malayappa Swamy, accompanied by Sridevi and Bhudevi, adorning the sacred Pearl Kavacham (Muthyapu Kavacham) and blessing devotees during a procession along the four Mada Streets.

The day’s rituals commenced with the ceremonial procession of the processional deities to the Sampangi Prakaram at 6.30 a.m.

This was followed by the Maha Shanthi Homam at 8 a.m., performed by temple priests and Vedic scholars in accordance with Agama traditions.

Later, the sacred Abhideyaka Abhishekam was performed to Sri Malayappa Swamy and His consorts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. amid the chanting of Vedic hymns.

In the evening, the deity was adorned with the Pearl Kavacham, followed by the Sahasra Deepalankara Seva.

The annual Pearl Kavacham Darshan, offered only during the Jyeshtabhishekam festival, drew thousands of devotees, who witnessed the Lord in the resplendent pearl armour and participated in the religious festivities.

Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkayya Chowdary, Temple Deputy Executive Officer Lokanatham, senior officials, priests, Vedic scholars and a large number of devotees attended the rituals.
