NTA Cancels NEET UG 2026 Exam, Re-Test Scheduled for June 21
New Delhi, May 23 (TNT): The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on May 3, 2026, following confirmation of a question paper leak.
The matter has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation for investigation.
The nationwide re-examination has been scheduled for Sunday, June 21, 2026, with approval from the Government of India.
According to the revised schedule, the examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.15 pm in offline pen-and-paper mode across 13 languages.
Fresh admit cards for candidates are expected to be issued by June 14, 2026.
The NTA clarified that candidates who had registered for the May 3 examination need not apply again, as all existing candidature details, registration data and exam centre preferences will automatically be carried forward for the re-test.
The agency also announced that no additional examination fee will be charged for the fresh test.
It further stated that fees paid by students for the cancelled May 3 examination would be refunded.
Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official NTA NEET Portal and National Testing Agency website for updates and admit card downloads.
