NIA Files Third Chargesheet in International Arms, Narcotics Trafficking Case
The two accused, arrested in July 2026, have been identified as Satyanarayan Meghwal, son of Ami Lal, and Sahil Godara, son of Vijay Singh.
They face charges under various provisions of the UAPA, Arms Act, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Agency said in a press release on Saturday.
The chargesheet in case RC-02/2025/NIA/JPR was filed before the NIA Special Court in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The agency has also invoked additional UAPA provisions against six accused who were chargesheeted earlier.
The NIA had previously filed two chargesheets in the case on August 14, 2025, and February 5, 2026.
According to the investigation, the case concerns an alleged organised smuggling syndicate operating across northern India with cross-border links.
Members of the network allegedly used drones to drop consignments of foreign-made weapons, ammunition and heroin near international border areas. The consignments were retrieved by co-accused and other network members on the Indian side and distributed across Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.
The investigation also revealed that the network allegedly used encrypted communication channels to coordinate operations, manage logistics and evade law enforcement agencies.
The NIA further alleged that the syndicate sought to target vulnerable youth through the distribution of narcotic and psychotropic substances, with the purported aim of promoting addiction, exploiting individuals and fostering disaffection against India.
Further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects, trace the wider network and establish the full extent of the alleged criminal activities, the agency added.
