Mumbai: GJS showcases strength of India’s jewellery industry: Minister Uday Samant
Mumbai, Oct 2 (TNT): Maharashtra Industries and Marathi Language Minister Uday Samant on Friday said the India Gem & Jewellery Show (GJS) showcased the strength, creativity and resilience of India’s jewellery industry, bringing together traditional craftsmanship and innovation to drive growth.
Inaugurating the 10th edition of the India Gem & Jewellery Show (GJS 2026 Diwali Edition), organised by the All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) at the Jio World Convention Centre here, Samant congratulated the council for creating a platform to empower jewellers, entrepreneurs and artisans across the country.
He said Maharashtra had long been a hub for trade and craftsmanship, adding that exhibitions such as GJS provided opportunities for industry stakeholders to showcase their products, strengthen business relationships and promote Indian jewellery.
The three-day business-to-business exhibition will continue until October 4, brings together jewellers, designers, buyers and industry leaders from India and abroad.
GJC Chairman Rajesh Rokde said the 10th edition marked a milestone for the industry and would help jewellers showcase innovations, strengthen business ties and promote Indian craftsmanship.
GJC Vice-Chairman Avinash Gupta said the exhibition would highlight innovations catering to evolving consumer preferences while preserving traditional designs and craftsmanship.
GJS Convenor and former GJC Chairman Saiyam Mehra said the event would facilitate networking, knowledge-sharing and business opportunities. The exhibition will also host the National Jewellery Awards on October 3.
The show features gold and silver jewellery, couture and diamond-studded jewellery, loose diamonds, gemstones, pearls, lab-grown diamonds and jewellery, as well as allied products and machinery.
