Karimnagar, June 9 (TNT): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday announced a constituency-wide ‘Swachh Paathashala’ (Clean School) campaign on June 13 as part of programmes marking 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
The campaign will cover all government primary, upper primary and secondary schools in villages across the seven Assembly segments of the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency.
The decision was taken at a meeting of BJP district and mandal presidents chaired by Bandi Sanjay in Karimnagar on Monday to review programmes being organised to commemorate the completion of 12 years of the Modi government.
As part of the initiative, BJP workers will hold ‘Tiffin Baithaks’ in government schools on June 11 and 12 and undertake a large-scale cleanliness drive in schools on June 13 ahead of their reopening.
The Union Minister directed party leaders to appoint in-charges for every school and ensure participation of workers in cleaning classrooms and school premises.
He also called for beautification of schools and extensive publicity for the programme through social media platforms.
Bandi Sanjay further announced that rallies would be organised in villages on June 16 to promote student enrolment in schools.
He also said that free branded bicycles would be distributed to Class 10 students studying in government schools under the ‘Modi Gift’ programme.
The bicycles would be distributed simultaneously on a large scale across the constituency, with efforts being made to secure a place in the Guinness Book of Records, he added.
