Lupin launches triple-combination inhaler for COPD treatment in India

Mumbai, Oct 6 (TNT): Drug major Lupin Ltd on Tuesday announced the launch of Formoflo-G MDI, a fixed-dose triple-combination metered-dose inhaler for the long-term management and treatment of moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India.

The product has received approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), the Pharma company said in a statement.

Formoflo-G MDI combines Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate and Fluticasone Propionate in a single inhaler and is available as a twice-daily, single-strength fixed-dose formulation, Lupin said.

The launch is aimed at expanding treatment options for COPD patients in India, where more than 55 million people are estimated to be living with the condition, it said.

Lupin Managing Director Nilesh Gupta said the launch reflected the company’s commitment to addressing unmet patient needs through differentiated and high-quality therapies.

“By combining innovation with accessibility, we aim to improve outcomes for patients living with respiratory diseases,” he said.

Rajeev Sibal, President, India Region Formulations, Lupin, said the new inhaler brings together three established therapies in a single device and strengthens the company’s respiratory portfolio.

According to IQVIA data for MAT March 2026, Lupin ranks second in India’s respiratory therapy segment, the company said.

The launch further reinforces Lupin’s focus on developing innovative therapies for patients with respiratory diseases, it added.
