KL University, HCL GUVI AI Labs sign MoU to establish Agentic AI campus
Hyderabad, Sept 21 (TNT): KL Deemed to be University on Monday announced that it has signed an MoU with HCL Group’s HCL GUVI AI Labs to establish what it described as the “Nation’s First Agentic AI Campus”, aimed at integrating Artificial Intelligence and Agentic AI across its academic programmes.
The agreement was signed at the university’s Vaddeswaram campus (Andhra Pradesh) in the presence of HCL Group representatives, KL Deemed to be University Vice-Chancellor Dr G Pardha Saradhi Varma, Registrar Prof Indu Pavan Kumar Konduru and other senior officials.
Under the collaboration, AI will be integrated into degree programmes, curricula, laboratories, projects and learning activities, the University said in a release here.
Students will receive exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models and other emerging technologies.
The initiative will also focus on enabling students to develop autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents capable of reasoning through complex tasks, planning multi-step actions, accessing enterprise knowledge, interacting with databases and applications and using external tools and APIs.
The university said students would receive hands-on training in areas including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, multimodal applications, intelligent chatbots, AI copilots, enterprise assistants, intelligent search and workflow automation.
The programme will also cover programming, full-stack development, cloud computing, databases, DevOps, cybersecurity and application deployment.
Students will undertake projects addressing challenges across healthcare, education, agriculture, manufacturing, finance, retail, cybersecurity, smart cities, human resources, supply chains and enterprise automation.
The initiative will include industry-led projects, hackathons, innovation challenges, research projects and product competitions, with promising teams encouraged to develop prototypes into market-ready products and startup ventures.
The university said the programme would also prepare students for emerging roles including AI Engineer, Agentic AI Developer, Generative AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, LLM Application Developer, AI Automation Engineer and AI Product Engineer.
