Karmayogi Bharat, OpenAI Join Hands to Strengthen AI Skills of Civil Servants

New Delhi, Oct 21 (TNT): Karmayogi Bharat, a Government Company and OpenAI Academy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen capacity development among civil servants by integrating OpenAI Academy’s learning resources into the iGOT Karmayogi platform.

The collaboration aims to equip government personnel across the Centre and States with practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills, supporting Mission Karmayogi’s objective of building a professional, well-trained and future-ready civil service, the Academy said in a release on Wednesday.

Under the agreement, OpenAI will provide approved OpenAI Academy content for the iGOT Karmayogi platform, while Karmayogi Bharat will facilitate access, learner engagement and coordination with relevant government departments.

Chhavi Bhardwaj, CEO of Karmayogi Bharat, said the collaboration would help civil servants develop practical skills to use AI confidently and responsibly in their day-to-day work, contributing to improved public service delivery.

Pragya Misra, Head of Strategy and Government Affairs at OpenAI India, said the partnership would help build practical AI capabilities at scale, noting that more than 1.7 crore government employees across the Centre, States and Union Territories were registered on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.

The Academy courses will be available to eligible government personnel through the platform, which supports learning anytime, anywhere and on any device.

The initiative aligns with Mission Karmayogi’s broader objective of promoting continuous learning and strengthening the capabilities of government personnel to meet the evolving requirements of public administration.
