Kapileswara Swamy Pavitrotsavams Begin with Religious Fervour in Tirupati
Tirupati, July 26 (TNT): The three-day annual Pavitrotsavams at Sri Kapileswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati commenced on Sunday amid Vedic chants and traditional Saivite rituals.
As part of the inaugural celebrations, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed to the Panchamurthis using sacred ingredients including milk, curd, honey, turmeric, sandalwood paste and other religious offerings.
Later in the evening, Kalasa Puja, Homam and Pavitra Pratishta will be conducted.
The festival rituals will continue with Granthi Pavitra Samarpana on July 27, while the celebrations will conclude with Maha Poornahuti on July 28.
The annual Pavitrotsavams are observed as a sacred atonement ritual for any inadvertent omissions in the temple’s daily and festival rituals.
The ceremony is performed seeking divine blessings for the sanctity of the temple, universal welfare and the well-being of devotees.
Temple officials, priests and a large number of devotees participated in the inaugural rituals.
