Kakinada: TDP Women Leaders Defend Coalition Rule, Accuse YSRCP of Distortion Campaign
KAKINADA, June 14 (TNT): Escalating the political war of words between the ruling NDA alliance and the opposition YSRCP, TDP women leaders on Sunday accused the YSRCP of running a misinformation campaign to divert attention from its own record in office and defended the coalition government’s performance over the past two years.
Addressing a press conference at the district TDP office in Kakinada, TDP leaders Tummala Sunitha, Koppanati Nagakumary and Pirla Lakshmi Prasanna alleged that YSRCP leaders were attempting to mislead the public through rallies and criticism of the government despite what they termed as visible progress under the NDA administration.
The leaders said the coalition government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, had succeeded in balancing welfare and development despite inheriting a difficult financial situation.
They claimed that welfare programmes such as Thalliki Vandanam and Matsyakara Bharosa, along with infrastructure development initiatives, had strengthened public confidence in the government.
Launching a sharp attack on YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP leaders alleged that his tenure left Andhra Pradesh without a clear capital roadmap and hindered the state’s development prospects.
They argued that while the previous YSRCP government focused on political vendetta and administrative uncertainty, the present government was concentrating on governance, welfare delivery and job creation.
The TDP leaders also targeted YSRCP leader Sunkara Siva Prasanna, alleging that she rose to political prominence after being elected on a TDP ticket and later defecting to another party, describing it as an example of “backstab politics”.
Seeking to draw a contrast between the two administrations, they said the coalition government had fulfilled key electoral commitments and initiated recruitment processes, including DSC teacher appointments and police recruitment, to address unemployment.
The leaders claimed that the NDA government’s “Super Six” welfare promises had gained public acceptance and described them as a major factor behind growing support for the ruling alliance.
As political activity intensifies ahead of future electoral contests, the TDP leaders asserted that YSRCP was struggling to counter the government’s performance and had resorted to negative campaigning.
They maintained that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and long-term vision for development had once again placed Andhra Pradesh on a growth trajectory, while accusing the opposition of attempting to rewrite its own record in office.
Several party leaders, including Vadisela Dalamma, Nammi Satyavani, Tirudu Yellamma and Bangaru Satyavati, attended the media interaction.
