Kakinada: BJP leaders pay rich tributes to former PM Vajpayee

Kakinada, Aug 16 (TNT):  BJP leaders paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary at a programme held at Three Lights Junction in Ramaraopeta area here on Sunday.

The leaders offered floral tributes to Vajpayee’s statue and recalled his contribution to the nation, describing him as a statesman who left his mark through efficient and clean administration.

BJP senior leader and Civil Supplies Corporation Director Yenimireddi Malakondayya said Vajpayee had resigned as Prime Minister to uphold political values, unlike the present trend of leaders compromising on values for the sake of power and position.

BJP State Building Committee member Gatti Satyanarayana described Vajpayee as a committed nation-builder and recalled his contribution to the development of the Golden Quadrilateral highway project.

BJP senior leader Duvvuri Subrahmanyam described Vajpayee as a great son of India and a doyen of Indian politics. He said Vajpayee commanded respect across political lines, including among leaders of the Congress party.

Subrahmanyam said Vajpayee was widely acclaimed for his administration and for according equal priority to the country’s defence and development.

BJP ward leader Godi Venkat, Satyavati and other party workers attended the programme.
