IndiGo Ventures invests in Sarvam AI’s Series B round

New Delhi, Aug 28 (TNT): IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of IndiGo, on Friday announced an investment in Sarvam, an Indian full-stack sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) company, as part of its Series B funding round.

The investment will strengthen the existing partnership between IndiGo and Sarvam to develop AI-based solutions for customer service, employee productivity and airline operations, the companies said.

IndiGo said the partnership combines its aviation expertise, operational scale and industry-specific use cases with Sarvam’s capabilities in AI models, voice and agentic systems.

The companies will explore AI applications for customer interactions, operational workflows and workforce productivity, with successful solutions expected to be scaled across IndiGo’s network.

Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer, IndiGo, said AI was emerging as a key capability for the aviation sector and was transforming customer experience, workforce productivity and operational decision-making.

He said the partnership would provide IndiGo access to AI capabilities developed in India and enable the airline to accelerate technology-led innovation.

Sarvam co-founder Pratyush Kumar said the aviation sector offered significant scope for enterprise AI because of its large volume of customer interactions and complex, time-sensitive operations.

He said IndiGo’s operational scale and domain expertise would help Sarvam develop AI systems capable of delivering value in real-world production environments.

Sarvam develops AI technologies across training and inference infrastructure, frontier models and enterprise AI products, with capabilities spanning text, speech, vision and documents.

IndiGo and Sarvam will continue to develop and evaluate applications across customer experience, employee productivity and airline operations, with plans to expand successful use cases across IndiGo’s network.
