IndiGo to launch direct Guwahati-Bangkok flights from Oct 27

New Delhi, Sept 7 (TNT): IndiGo, India’s preferred airline and one of the world’s fastest-growing carriers, on Monday announced the launch of non-stop, bi-weekly flights between Guwahati and Bangkok, effective October 27, 2026.

The new service marks the launch of IndiGo’s international operations from Guwahati and the commencement of direct international connectivity from Northeast India, further expanding the airline’s growing India-Thailand network, the airlines said in a release on Monday.

The new route is expected to create fresh opportunities for leisure and business travel while supporting tourism, trade and cultural exchange between Northeast India and Thailand.

It will also strengthen Guwahati’s position as an emerging international gateway and improve access to Southeast Asia.

Guwahati has been an important part of IndiGo’s growth story since the airline’s early years, including its inaugural Delhi-Guwahati-Imphal flight in 2006.

The commencement of international operations from the city underscores the airline’s focus on enhancing connectivity from the Northeast.

Thailand continues to be among the most sought-after international destinations for Indian travellers. IndiGo currently connects Bangkok with Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The airline also operates direct services to Phuket from Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, besides connecting Krabi with Delhi.

IndiGo will further strengthen its India-Thailand connectivity with the launch of direct Gaya-Bangkok flights from October 26, 2026, creating an air link between Gaya, one of Buddhism’s most important pilgrimage destinations, and Thailand.

Customers can book the new Guwahati-Bangkok service through IndiGo’s official website, mobile application and authorised travel partners.
