IIT Roorkee to confer degrees on 2,701 students at two-day convocation
Roorkee, Sept 17 (TNT): Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will hold its two-day Convocation 2026 on September 19 and 20, with 2,701 graduating students set to receive their degrees, the institute said on Thursday.
National Security Advisor Ajit Kumar Doval will deliver the Convocation Address as Chief Guest on September 19.
Chief of Defence Staff General N S Raja Subramani will be the Guest of Honour.
On September 20, the convocation for postgraduate and PhD students will feature Hero MotoCorp CEO Harshavardhan Chitale as Chief Guest.
Dr Kapil Garg, Founder and Managing Director of Oilmax Energy and Managing Director of Asian Energy Services, will be the Guest of Honour.
Former Solicitor General of India and IIT Roorkee Board of Governors Chairman Harish Salve will preside over the convocation.
Announcing the programme at a press conference, IIT Roorkee Director Prof K K Pant said the convocation would celebrate the academic achievements, research, innovation and service contributions of the graduating students.
IIT Roorkee Deputy Director Prof Praveen Kumar and Dean of Academic Affairs Prof N K Navani also addressed the media at the press conference held at the Senate Hall of the James Thomson Building.
