IBM Opens FutureNow Centre in Visakhapatnam to Boost AI, Global Consulting Delivery
Visakhapatnam, Aug. 5 (TNT): IBM on Wednesday announced the launch of its IBM Consulting FutureNow Centre in Visakhapatnam, strengthening its presence in Andhra Pradesh and expanding its global consulting and AI-driven technology delivery capabilities.
The new facility will support consulting and technology services for global clients across artificial intelligence (AI), hybrid cloud, software engineering, data and analytics, cybersecurity and enterprise transformation.
The FutureNow Centre was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh IT, Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh in the presence of Sandip Patel, Managing Director, IBM India & South Asia, along with senior government officials and IBM executives.
Addressing the inaugural event, Lokesh said IBM’s investment reinforces Visakhapatnam’s emergence as a global hub for artificial intelligence, digital services and technology-led innovation.
He said the state aims to build a comprehensive technology ecosystem that generates high-quality employment, develops future-ready talent and positions Vizag among India’s leading destinations for AI and digital transformation.
Sandip Patel said India has a significant opportunity to lead the digital era by leveraging its talent and innovation capabilities, adding that the Visakhapatnam FutureNow Centre reflects IBM’s commitment to accelerating AI adoption and strengthening India’s role as a global technology and innovation hub.
IBM said the centre will serve as a hub for AI-first cloud transformation, platform engineering, service integration, quality engineering and user experience services.
The company noted that Visakhapatnam’s growing digital talent pool, academic institutions and evolving technology ecosystem make it well positioned to support global client engagements while creating new opportunities for skilled professionals in the region.
With the addition of Visakhapatnam, IBM Consulting now operates FutureNow Centres in 15 locations across India, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Noida, Kochi and Kolkata.
