Hyderabad Press Club Joins Press Club Federation of India; Vijay Kumar Reddy Elected Vice-President

Hyderabad/New Delhi, June 24 (TNT): The Hyderabad Press Club has joined the newly formed Press Club Federation of India (PCFI), which held its first meeting at the Press Club of India in New Delhi on Monday.

The meeting was attended by presidents and secretaries of press clubs from Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Indore, Agartala and Guwahati. Participants discussed the opportunities and challenges confronting independent media and journalists across the country.

Following the deliberations, the Federation elected its national executive committee.

Gautam Lahiri of the Press Club of India was elected President of the Federation. S. Vijay Kumar Reddy of the Hyderabad Press Club, Samar Khurdas of Mumbai and Snehashish Sur of Kolkata were elected Vice-Presidents.

Saurabh Duggal of Chandigarh was chosen as General Secretary, while Sangeet Baroo of the Press Club of India was elected Assistant Secretary. Neeraj Thakur was elected Treasurer.

Pranab Sarkar of Agartala, Praveen Kairavl of Indore and Kahen Kalit of Guwahati were elected as members of the executive committee.

The Federation aims to provide a common platform for press clubs across the country and address issues concerning media freedom, professional standards and the welfare of journalists.
