Hyd: Vasavi Club Budhapurnima pledges Rs 50,000 for midday meal facilities at ZPHS Boduppal
Hyderabad, Aug 15 (TNT): Vasavi Club Budhapurnima on Saturday announced a contribution of Rs 50,000 towards laying flooring at ZPHS, Boduppal, to provide a cleaner and more comfortable space for over 700 students to have breakfast and midday meals.
The contribution was announced by Vasavi Club Budhapurnima President Telukuntla Venkat Raghuram during the club’s Independence Day celebrations at the school here, in the presence of club members and Headmaster G. Ashok Kumar.
The initiative was taken in response to a request from the school to improve the area where students sit for their meals.
The flooring work is expected to be completed by September 5, when the club and school plan to jointly celebrate Teachers’ Day.
The contribution is being funded from the proceeds of a Tambola fundraising programme organised by the club last month.
Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu, who led the fundraising initiative, said the proceeds were being utilised to address a genuine requirement identified by the school.
Club members and their families also came forward to stitch or sponsor uniforms for around 15 economically disadvantaged students during the Independence Day programme.
Vasavi Club Budhapurnima Secretary Kuncham Krishna said the initiative was aimed at creating a better and more comfortable environment for students and hoped it would make a positive difference to their daily lives.
Treasurer Pampati Praveen, Kandukuri Ramesh Gupta, Proddaturi Veerabhadrudu and other club members and their family members attended the programme.
