Hyd: Dr Ajai Chowdhry urges graduates to aim high, embrace AI and continuous learning

Hyderabad, Oct 31 (TNT): HCL Co-founder Dr Ajai Chowdhry on Saturday urged graduating students to move beyond their comfort zones, set ambitious goals and embrace continuous learning to meet the challenges of rapid technological changes, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).

Addressing the 16th convocation of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE) here, he said aspiration should be greater than available resources and called upon students not to allow resource constraints to limit their ambitions.

Referring to the founding of HCL in 1975 by six young engineers with limited resources but an ambitious vision, Chowdhry said aspiration could drive innovation and resourcefulness.

The gap between ambition and available resources should be treated as an opportunity to think creatively and go beyond conventional limits, he said.

Highlighting the rapid advancement of AI, he advised graduates to view the technology as a cognitive amplifier rather than a threat and stressed the importance of adaptability and continuous learning.

Degrees, he said, were proof of their ability to learn and should not be treated as limits to their potential.

Presenting the annual report, IFHE Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Vinay Kumar outlined the institution’s progress in academic excellence, research, innovation and industry engagement during 2025-26.

More than 4,000 students received degrees at the convocation, including PhDs in Management, Law, Science and Technology, and Economics.
