Homoeopathic Wellness Kits Distributed to SC Beneficiaries in Chennai
Chennai, June 16 (TNT): The Homoeopathic Research Institute for Disabilities (HRID), Chennai, functioning under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy and located on the campus of the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities at Muttukadu near Chennai, recently organised a free distribution programme of Homoeopathic Wellness Kits for members of the Scheduled Caste community at the Kovalam Village Panchayat Office.
The programme was conducted under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) on the directions of Dr. Subhash Kaushik, Director General of CCRH under the Ministry of AYUSH.
Under the initiative, a total of 1,000 Homoeopathic Wellness Kits, each valued at around Rs. 1,000, are being distributed free of cost to 1,000 Scheduled Caste beneficiaries.
The kits are intended to help economically weaker families manage common acute health conditions.
Ms. Sobhana Thangam, President of the Kovalam Village Panchayat, attended the programme as chief guest and formally inaugurated the distribution of the wellness kits to beneficiaries from the village.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kolli Raju, Consultant Homoeopathy at HRID Chennai and Assistant Director (Research Training Division), CCRH, explained the objectives of the scheme and highlighted its potential benefits for patients.
Dr. D. Karthikeyan, Officer-in-Charge of HRID Chennai, provided details on the proper usage of the 17 homoeopathic medicines included in the wellness kits.
Dr. Venmani and Dr. Maha Lakshmi of HRID Chennai, who are associated with the SCSP programme, also participated in the event.
Nearly 60 people, including outsourced staff of the Kovalam Village Panchayat, benefited from the programme.
