Global Grace Cancer Run to be held in Hyderabad on October 11

Hyderabad, Sept 15 (TNT): The ninth edition of the Global Grace Cancer Run will be held at Gachibowli Stadium here on October 11, with registrations open for the event, organisers said on Tuesday.

Organised by Grace Cancer Foundation and powered by Evernorth Health Services, the run aims to create awareness about cancer and promote early detection and screening.

The event will have 2K, 5K and 10K categories, with registration fees of Rs 800, Rs 900 and Rs 1,200 respectively. The 10K will be a timed run, while the 2K and 5K categories will be open to families and other participants, the Foundation said in a release.

Around 35,000 participants are expected at the Hyderabad edition, while the global event is expected to draw more than one lakh participants from over 130 countries, organisers said.

The theme of the run is “Run for Grace. Screen for Life.”

Grace Cancer Foundation Founder Dr Chinnababu Sunkavalli said the event would focus on cancer awareness, prevention and early detection and encourage people to make screening part of regular healthcare.

He said the Foundation was planning to list on the Social Stock Exchange to strengthen governance, compliance and transparency.

The Foundation also plans to establish a Centre of Excellence for Preventive Oncology, deploy AI-enabled mobile cancer screening units, expand screening programmes and develop digital health platforms for underserved communities.

The organisers said the Global Grace Cancer Run has reached nearly 1.4 crore people across more than 130 countries since its inception.
