GHMC Identifies 473 Unauthorised Constructions, Intensifies Demolition Drive

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (TNT): The Gre ater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has identified 473 ongoing unauthorised constructions and buildings deviating from sanctioned plans and intensified its demolition drive, with enforcement action taken at three locations on Friday.

In Golconda Zone, officials targeted an unauthorised cellar, ground floor and six upper floors beside House No. 15-8-511/F near Aziz Plaza in Feelkhana, Begum Bazar, on a 70-square-yard plot, the corporation said in a release on Saturday.

In Khairatabad Zone, demolition action was taken against unauthorised third, fourth and fifth floors beside House No. 11-2-993 at Red Hills, on a 90-square-yard plot.

In Secunderabad Zone, officials acted against an unauthorised fourth floor at House No. 1-8-447 in Chikkadpally, on a 357-square-yard plot.

The GHMC said notices were being issued and speaking orders passed against the identified structures in accordance with the provisions of the CURE Act.

The corporation is preparing an action plan for the demolition or sealing of the identified buildings. Enforcement operations will continue across all zones to curb unauthorised constructions and ensure compliance with building regulations, it added.
