FTCCI to play key role in India’s journey towards $30-trillion economy: Maheshwari

Hyderabad, Aug 15 (TNT): Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) President K K Maheshwari on Saturday said the chamber would play a crucial role in India’s journey towards becoming a $30-trillion economy by 2047, stressing the need for vibrant agriculture, a strong industrial base and sustained economic growth.

Addressing the 80th Independence Day celebrations after unfurling the National Flag at Federation House here, Maheshwari said India’s freedom was achieved after years of struggle and immense sacrifice and it was the responsibility of every citizen to ensure that the sacrifices of freedom fighters did not go in vain.

He said FTCCI, a 109-year-old apex trade, commerce and industry body, would contribute to the country’s economic growth by acting as a bridge between industry and policymakers, voicing the concerns and aspirations of the business community and promoting policy reforms and global competitiveness.

“India today is one of the most vibrant economies in the world and has set itself an ambitious goal of becoming a $30 trillion economy by 2047. To realise this dream, we need vibrant agriculture, a strong industrial base and sustained economic growth,” Maheshwari said.

Flag Man of Bengal Priya Ranjan Sarkar, the Guest of Honour, urged citizens to respect the National Flag not only during Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations but at all times.

Addressing a gathering , Sarkar said, “Main rahun, na rahun… Tiranga aur desh hamesha rahenge,” stressing that individuals may come and go but the Tricolour and the nation would endure.

He also appealed to citizens to ensure that the National Flag was handled and disposed of respectfully after use.

FTCCI Senior Vice President Srinivas Garimella said the Chamber had been playing a catalytic role in the economic development of Telangana and the country.

He called upon members to dedicate themselves to larger national goals and contribute towards fulfilling the aspirations set for the country.

Several FTCCI members, committee chairs and representatives of PR CommUNITY participated in the Independence Day celebrations.
