Vijayawada, May 8 (TNT): FlixBus India, a global travel-tech platform on Friday announced it has partnered with Green Drive Mobility, a tech-enabled electric mobility platform, to launch electric intercity bus services between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, marking a major step towards electrification of long-distance bus travel in India.

In a release, the companies announced that four electric buses would be introduced in the first phase on the Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam corridor, one of Andhra Pradesh’s busiest intercity travel routes.

According to the companies, the initiative aims to provide passengers with a comfortable and technology-enabled travel experience while improving environmental sustainability compared to conventional diesel-operated coaches.

The collaboration combines FlixBus’s global travel-technology platform, digital ticketing systems and demand-generation network with Green Drive Mobility’s electric fleet operations and mobility infrastructure.

The companies said the project aligns with India’s broader push towards cleaner mobility and public transport electrification while contributing to lower emissions in the intercity transport segment.
