FlixBus expands Hyderabad network, adds Pondicherry connection
Hyderabad, Sept 22 (TNT): Global travel-tech company FlixBus on Tuesday announced an expansion of its Hyderabad network, recording a 159 per cent year-on-year growth in its network in the city in September 2026 compared with the same month last year.
More than 50 per cent of FlixBus India’s network now spans South India, with 120 additional buses set to be added across the southern network during the third and fourth quarters, including more than 60 buses operating to and from Hyderabad, the company said.
Marking two years of operations in South India, FlixBus is launching a new Hyderabad-Pondicherry connection, with the Volvo sleeper service covering an approximately 1,800-km round trip and connecting passengers to Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu.
The company said it would also launch new connections to Guntur, Coonoor and Ooty, further expanding its network across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
FlixBus entered South India in September 2024 with services connecting Bengaluru with Chennai and Hyderabad and has since expanded its network to major urban centres, regional destinations and leisure locations.
Surya Khurana, Managing Director, FlixBus India, said South India had demonstrated significant potential for intercity mobility over the past two years, with Hyderabad emerging as an important connectivity hub.
The company would focus on expanding its network by combining local operating expertise with its technology and network capabilities, he said.
The additional buses are expected to increase capacity across the southern network and support new and existing routes, the company said.
FlixBus said it would continue to work with local bus operators and use its technology platform for network planning, pricing, digital customer experience and passenger services as it enters its third year of operations in South India.
