Flipkart to kick off 13th edition of Big Billion Days on Oct 9
New Delhi, Oct 6 (TNT): Flipkart will launch the 13th edition of its flagship festive sale, The Big Billion Days (TBBD), on October 9, with more than 150 million products, record seller participation and expanded delivery infrastructure across the country, the comapy said on Tuesday.
Early access to the sale will begin on October 8 for Flipkart Plus, BLACK and Flipkart credit card members.
Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said the company expects this year’s festive season to bring together 500 million registered customers, 1.4 million sellers and an expanded supply chain reaching new markets, including Leh and Kargil.
The company said TBBD 2026 will feature its largest-ever festive selection, including new launches across mobiles, large appliances, beauty and personal care, besides more than 1,200 fashion trends at their lowest prices of the year.
The sale will have the highest-ever number of participating sellers, with more than 60 per cent growth in transacting sellers over last year.
Flipkart said over 2.5 crore products from MSMEs, small sellers, artisans and weavers have been pre-positioned at Ekart fulfilment centres for faster festive deliveries.
Flipkart Minutes, the company’s quick-commerce service, has expanded fourfold year-on-year and now operates across more than 150 cities and 9,000 PIN codes through nearly 1,200 micro-fulfilment centres.
It will offer over 77,000 products across more than 1,400 categories during the festive season.
On supply chain preparedness, Flipkart said Ekart has added 14 million cubic feet of warehousing capacity, a 50 per cent increase, while automation has raised peak processing capacity by more than 30 per cent. More than 900 delivery hubs and 750-plus PIN codes have also been added.
The company said more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities have been created for the festive season, including nearly 75,000 first-time workforce entrants. Women account for over 20 per cent of Flipkart’s supply chain workforce.
Flipkart said artificial intelligence will be integrated across the shopping and delivery experience, enabling customers to discover products through text, voice and images.
AI-based tools will also support personalised product recommendations, seller content creation and last-mile delivery management.
The Big Billion Days is Flipkart’s flagship annual festive shopping event and covers categories ranging from electronics and fashion to groceries, appliances and gifting.
